What is Singapore CPSR Certification?

CPSR (The Consumer Protection Safety Requirements) 

The Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR) requires 33 categories of household electrical, electronic and gas appliances & accessories also known as Controlled Goods, to be tested to specified safety standards and affixed with the SAFETY Mark before they can be sold in Singapore.

 What are CPSR Certificate's Requirements on Refrigerators for Singaporean Market?

To register a refrigerator under the CPSR, suppliers must ensure that their products have been tested and certified compliant to applicable safety standards, then registered with the Consumer Product Safety Office, and affixed with the Safety Mark before they can be supplied in Singapore. The registration of Controlled Goods under the CPSR is based on Certificates of Conformity (CoC) issued by designated third-party Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), or Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) declared by Registered Suppliers.

There is no requirement for pre-market testing, certification or approval from the Consumer Product Safety Office. However, any person found guilty of selling unregistered Controlled Goods is liable upon conviction to a fine not exceeding S$10,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both.
