Restrictions on Hazardous Substances

The RoHS Directive restricts the use of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, including refrigerators. The restricted substances and their maximum allowable concentrations are:

Lead (Pb): 0.1%

Mercury (Hg): 0.1%
Cadmium (Cd): 0.01%
Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI): 0.1%
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): 0.1%
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE): 0.1%

Documentation

Manufacturers must maintain documentation and records that demonstrate compliance with RoHS requirements. This includes supplier declarations, test reports, and technical documentation for the components and materials used in the refrigerator.

Testing
